  1. You will be disappointed when you see how small it is. After a few days, it dawned on me that this is a very good speaker and can easily replace a larger system in terms of sheer sound quality. You will see comments like “it sounds good considering how small it is” etc., but it is an amazing speaker and I say that without caveats. The more I listen to it, the more I WANT to listen to it, it has exceeded all expectations. This after I had listened to the Bose Soundlink color, Bose Soundlink Mini and the Sony Pumpx, so its not like I did not know what to expect(they all have their sound signature but more expensive too). Coming back to the X300, the bass is excellent without overpowering the presentation. The distortion if any unnoticeable. The midrange and treble are meaty yet smooth. It is resolving without being sharp or forward. The cymbals sound really good. Rock sounds pretty darn good and just about every other genre including carnatic sounds good too. Very balanced sound, something real hard to achieve in most systems comprising separates. It has sustain and decay just like in a good amp. You can even hear the recording venue on well recorded tracks. It is not loud enough to be a party piece but as a personal listening device it is hard to beat, and maybe all you need. Ok, it doesnt do stuff like imaging or sound stage and might be asking too much from such a device. The sound quality is good enough that you will NOT enjoy poorly encoded tracks, you will know. Tracks ripped from CD at a decent bitrate will sound awesome. Songs downloaded form Itunes sound fantastic too. The X300 is an awfully good speaker, cant wait to hear the UE Boom and the megaBoom.

  2. I was looking for a bluetooth speaker for quite a long time and finally settled with this one. I wanted a portable bluetooth speaker that I can carry anywhere with me and it shouldn’t cost that much as I expected. I got this speaker from Amazon for just 3k and at that price point this one is just unbeatable. Though the packaging was not good enough and the box inside was seal broken, like it has been opened before, but the product itself was brand new and works fine and as I got this under 3k, so it didn’t bother me that much.Of course there are better options available but they cost way beyond my budget, mostly above 8k price range but this one sounds almost close to them. I have also listened to Jbl flip and Sony SRS x11 but this one sounds much better than those expensive tiny speakers.I am using this for last one week and I am very much satisfied with its performance. Its has amazing clarity and very good stereo sound effect along with decent bass. Enough to fill up a medium size room or small indoor party. The good thing is it doesn’t distort even at max volume which is very good thing. The drivers are set to an unique angle to give better surround sound quality. Battery life is also good enough, around 5 hours. build quality is also good enough as it is super gripy. One more reason to buy this speaker other than Jbl is logitech’s excellent afer sales service. I am using logitech products for last 5 yeasr and never had any issues with its products, even if any problem arises within the warranty period they just repair the product or replace, so that is also a big reason for me to stick to a logitech product. If your budget is under 5k and if you are looking for a portable bluetooth speaker then look no further, just go with this one.

  3. This speaker system is lauded in many online reviews. This is supposed to be the best bluetooth speaker to be available around $50.00.I was therefore skeptical to buy it @ INR 2,899/-, which at today’s exchange rate comes to about $43. This is not a “Make In India” product. So how can Amazon get the speaker imported, pay almost 100% import duties, and still sell it at below the price at which it is available in other countries?Turns out they cannot. And this is a lesson that even Cloudtail, which is supposed to be the name using which Amazon sells products; can indulge in selling counterfeit products. Here’s what happenedI got the speakers delivered in a few days. When I checked the package it looked odd. It had a tear on top right, and there was a big plastic tape-ish thing hanging out. The USB cable was placed in such a way that it had come out of the little cardboard foldout area which is supposed to contain it.In any case, I took the speakers out, powered them on and paired them to my laptop. They paired okay (though took a couple of minutes for the pairing to be complete). However, the sound quality was nothing to write home about. I played a Hindi Song, an English Song, a Bollywood Movie (HD) and a Hollywood Movie (Blue-Ray). There was absolutely no difference and the sound remained low and just what you may expect from those cheap 600/- speakers for the laptop from local Indian brands.I then paired it with my cellphone. The pairing was quicker this time. However, the sound quality was just the same. In addition, I noticed a remarkable drop in connectivity. The sound would be gone for a second or two, and then the playback would resume. This was not an issue on the cellphone as the song would continue to play.Read more ›
